I’ve long wanted to include a piece of turquoise in my artwork. To the Native peoples of America, turquoise symbolized protection, health and vitality. Bison need our protection now more than ever to steward the health of their herds for future generations. I love painting bison skulls, and am always looking for new ways to show their strength and beauty. The skull is also adorned with neon succulents.
